hope center for girls

Demoiselle 2 Femme [D2F] was founded in 1994 in the far south side neighborhood in Roseland as a community based program committed to serving adolescent females ages 12-19 in their transition toward womanhood. The H.O.P.E. Center [Honor Opportunity Purpose Endurance] will serve as a community-based institution which provides gender specific programming to increase the proportion of girls ages 12-18 who complete high school and matriculate to post secondary education; increase the proportion of girls who avoid teen pregnancy, drugs, violence and alcohol; and increase the number of girls who respect their community and are positive contributors to society. As part of our work with D2F, we have developed a STEM based design / build curriculum focused on community transformation.

D2F is currently in a negotiated sale process with the city of Chicago to acquire the historic Pullman firehouse and adjacent properties to develop the H.O.P.E. center with the goal to develop the next generation of African-American leaders.
